Job description

Our growing credit union is looking for a Director of Information of Information Systems headquartered at our Ambridge location.

Role:

To direct the data processing function of the Credit Union to ensure development and delivery of quality information processing services for Credit Union internal users and members.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

30% Directs the administration of the Data Processing Department, including budgeting, performance monitoring, reporting, planning, priority setting, compliance and staff management.

20% Directs and monitors all hardware and software conversion, development, and enhancement projects.

20% Develops and maintains effective and productive working relationships with user departments, senior managers, and vendors.

15% Develops and implements long-range strategic plans to address the evolving information processing needs of the Credit Union and its members.

10% Participates in Credit Union management issues through standing and ad hoc committees

5% Performs other related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. Maintain a cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily department demands.

2. Stay informed of current trends affecting the financial services industry including technical advances.

3. Ensure systems and processes are in compliance with credit union policies and procedures.

4. Prepare a department budget that is well documented and consistent with the strategic plans of the credit union.

5. Establish and maintain an effective relationship with user departments, senior management, and vendors.

6. Ensure all activities within the department are carried out within prescribed time frames and with zero unresolved errors and no errors resulting in a loss to the credit union.

Qualifications:

  • (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).

  • Five to ten years of similar or related experience

  • Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.

  • Thorough knowledge of hardware systems, system software, networks, and application software development.

  • Previous financial institution preferred

  • Must have excellent resource management, project planning, and communication skills.

  • Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.

  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to pass a drug and background check
